This is a photo of our oldest son Jacob a day after he was born. I put this one in because he looks so incredibly peaceful and let’s face it… he’s completely adorable.

Given the facts that I grew up with the Ford brand and I love doing photo shoots in junkyards, this shot was an easy capture for me. Taillights like you see in the above photo have such a beautiful combination of lines and curves. As the saying goes, “They just don’t make ‘em like they used to.”

One of my favorite subjects to photograph are things that are in a state of decay. There’s just something incredibly interesting about the textures that are formed when metal starts to oxidize or paint starts to chip away and create new canvases. This door handle was no exception with its gradient cracking and appearance as though it’s hanging on by a string.

When I first stumbled across this still life scene I was amazed at the precision for which Mother Nature placed these objects together. The contrast of the wood slats of the bench and the weathered texture of the branch combined with the defined edges of the raindrops were too hard to resist.
